Gamiel Yafai– Author of ‚Demystifing Diversity‘ and Award-winning Diversity & Inclusion Strategist
Recipient of the Global Diversity Leadership Award presented by the Global HRD Congress, Gamiel has worked with some of the UK’s largest Employers to design and implement Change/Positive Action initiatives to both attract new talent from diverse backgrounds and to support existing talent reach their potential. Gamiel founded and headed up the Diversity Practices for two of the UK’s largest HR Resourcing Agencies (Barkers now Penna & Euro RSCG Riley now Havas) before setting up Diversity Marketplace. He has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of Diversity and Inclusion leadership and the impact of Unconscious Bias, in relation to the employment cycle.
Gamiel has also been involved in over 30 research projects exploring the perceptions of minority groups towards employers and the reality of working for those employers from a minority perspective. Gamiel designs and delivers D & I training programmes and is facilitator on the Civil Service’s Positive Action Pathway.
David Beeney– Mental Health Consultant and Founder of Breaking the Silence
Research shows that mental health problems in the workplace cost UK employers £26 billion per year, averaging £1,035 per employee.
David has committed the rest of his working life to reducing the stigma of mental health in the workplace. He enjoyed a successful career in newspapers and magazines for over 30 years, and was General Manager of a regional daily newspaper and Commercial Director for Auto Trader. He always knew that he wanted to do something different at the latter end of his career, he just didn’t know what that would be! He now feels he has found true purpose in life and wants to make a positive difference to fellow mental health sufferers. He would also like to help employers gain a greater understanding of how they can best support their employees. He is also a qualified Mental Health Counsellor affiliated to the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Practitioners).
Natalie Sigona– Diversity & Inclusion Consultant, Rolls Royce
Natalie is a Global Diversity & Inclusion consultant who has held a variety of HR positions in Rolls-Royce, a global engineering organisation, over the last 17 years. Natalie has specialised in Diversity and Inclusion for the past six years and is noted for her genuine passion and expertise on the subject. Natalie is often invited to be a panel member and external speaker on the topic of Diversity & Inclusion and she enjoys generating awareness, light bulb moments and driving change through engaging openly on this topic. Natalie is particularly passionate about connecting different people, cognitive difference and creating an inclusive ‘thinking environment’ which allows inclusion and diversity to thrive. Natalie is a member of Toastmaster’s International which focuses on public speaking and leadership development. She is also an accredited personal and business coach and fan of transformational coaching & Nancy Kline. She has two young children, Gino and Lola and enjoys running to keep fit.
Karen Notaro and Arti Patel- Project Race, Ministry of Justice
Project Race is an initiative mandated by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) as part of it transformation agenda to support the organisation in becoming ‘Race Confident’. Arti Patel-Project Race Business Manager & Programme Office & Karen Notaro-Head of MoJ Employee Engagement Champions Network, will co-present, giving insight into the creative and innovative ways of working that is taking place within this department to achieve success.
Karen is the Head of the Engagement Champions Network and is responsible for continuing to grow and up-skill the now 1,000 strong cadre of Engagement Champions across the department.
Arti has been a Civil Servant for 18 years, working across several areas within the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). With a background in Criminology & Sociology, Arti’s roles have included Judicial Appointments, MoJ HQ HR and latterly Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.
Vicky Constance, Head of Private Sector Membership Programmes for Stonewall

Jane Hatton – Founder of Evenbreak
During a career spanning 25 years in HR and diversity consultancy, Jane gained a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Development, and became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
In 2011 Jane founded Evenbreak, an award-winning social enterprise helping employers such as Lloyds Banking Group, Channel 4, John Lewis, Tesco and others to become more attractive to talented disabled candidates. Evenbreak also offers a Best Practice Portal to help employers become more confident around inclusion and accessibility in the workplace.
Jane runs Evenbreak lying flat with a laptop suspended above her as her degenerative spinal condition makes sitting very difficult. All employees of Evenbreak are disabled and work flexibly from home.
