When we partner with customers, we want them to consider us an extension of their own team. Which is why, with each success they celebrate, we like to be the first in line to pop the Champagne with them.
Last Friday was especially jubilant. Two of our longest-standing partners, Improbable and Delivery Hero, cemented their status among Europe’s most innovative and exciting young businesses, both announcing incredible funding rounds, totalling almost $1bn
Improbable, the London-based tech startup, whose ground-breaking SpatialOS makes it possible to simulate hugely complex virtual worlds, closed a $502m investment round
led by Japan’s SoftBank. The funding placed a valuation of over $1bn on the company who raised a series A of $50m only two years ago. This investment puts them up alongside other British tech success stories such as DeepMind, who were acquired by Google for $500m in 2012.

Delivery Hero, the German-founded food delivery service which operates in over 40 countries, closed $421.3m in funding
led by Naspers, and is now valued at over $3.1bn. After last year’s merger with major rival FoodPanda, Delivery Hero have established themselves as a main player in the global delivery market, processing over 171 million orders in 2016.
Both businesses recognise the importance of employee engagement and preserving their strong company cultures, especially during periods of such rapid growth. It’s an amazing experience to partner with them so closely. The challenges they’ve encountered and the feedback they’ve given us, have been instrumental in shaping Peakon into the platform and service that it is today.
We’re very excited to continue these partnerships as both companies go from strength to strength. Congratulations to all at Delivery Hero and Improbable – here’s to the future
Peakon has become an invaluable management tool for Delivery Hero. Having a quantitative and qualitative overview on the feedback of hundreds of employees and then drilling into any issues they have is a revelation.
