Belonging and inclusion for everyone enables Peakon’s success. We are committed to building a culture of listening that empowers "Peakons" to feel seen, heard, and valued for who they are.


DE&I is about celebrating the differences and similarities between us all. When we embrace both our differences and similarities, we are happier, more productive, and achieve more together.

What this means to us

We believe diversity is the foundation of strong, creative teams. When people with different backgrounds and viewpoints come together, they solve problems, learn, and thrive. In fact, Harvard Business Review found that diverse teams are able to solve problems faster than teams of cognitively similar people.

In an environment where everybody can provide input, people do their best work. For people to do their best work, they must be supported equitably. To support people equitably, we must listen to their lived experiences and provide transparent action to create an environment that works for everyone.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion advisory board

Our diversity, equity, and inclusion advisory board brings together HR Leaders from our 1,000+ client base, with the goal of learning from each other. Through collaboration across companies, industries, and fields, we are aiming to create an open, safe space to discuss, share, and learn about inclusion together. We hope to take back some stories of shared successes and lessons learned to inspire action in each of our own companies.

I grew up in Apartheid South Africa, so I have a first-hand experience of being on the very privileged side of life. I have watched people being actively excluded and understood that this is not fair or right and definitely not inclusive.

This quote from Martin Luther King means a lot to me: "True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice." There needs to be more than tolerance. There needs to be a very present sense of fairness and justice for all humans.

I love our value: "Be you. Be More." It celebrates difference. It can be difficult to get everything right but Peakon is a safe place where you can make mistakes, learn, and grow. I am so glad that I have team members who feel that they can talk about what really matters to them.

Having lived on three different continents, I know how difficult it can be to feel excluded. By listening to others, we enrich our own lives and develop an empathy that makes things better for everyone.

When I joined Peakon, we only had 12 employees, but I knew there was something special about our journey ahead. My favorite part of my job to this day is hearing customers talk about how the insights we deliver are driving tangible improvements to employees’ lives. That includes everything from ergonomic office supplies and mental health support lines to mentorship programs dedicated to getting more women into leadership. Working at Peakon has been an incredible adventure. Not least because, having grown up in the UK, I am fortunate to say I now live in New York, a life-long ambition of mine.

Inclusion is important to me because being included within a workplace means you can be 100% you—your most authentic self—removing that "identity cover." Inclusion gives me a sense of belonging and with that I am able to use my voice, share my opinion, and bring my insights, experiences, and perspectives to situations. At Peakon, I am encouraged to do these things without fear. I don’t feel the need to cover up parts of my identity.

By working at Peakon, I now have a great work-life balance as I can maintain better physical and mental well-being, which has always been important to me. With this balance, I am less stressed when it comes to my work, my productivity has increased, and I can really enjoy what I do!

Inclusion is important to me because it’s the right thing to do. As someone from a marginalized community, I know the damage that exclusion can cause and I would never want anyone else to feel that way. Peakon has given me an internal platform where I can speak openly and honestly, and have an impact on pushing forward inclusion.

One of the most amazing things that I’ve seen during my time at Peakon was when the company made a donation in every employee’s name to an organization that we believe in—and then the employees started making matching donations as a thank you to the company. We live and breathe the values we put in place: from "We care," which you can really see and feel in our decision-making, to "Transparency is our OS," where we implement technical solutions to create more company-wide transparency.

Inclusion is crucial because we are living in a truly global world where everything is multi-ethnic, not only at work, but also in our relationships. Tapping into the contributions of diverse groups of people is a strong differentiator for employee and organizational success, especially when it comes to engagement and retention.

Peakon embraces diversity and provides a level of support to its employees that matches who they are, where they come from, and what they’re experiencing. I had the opportunity of being featured in a German tech publication to share my perspective and experiences as a woman in the tech industry. I believe that visibility like this could inspire more women to get into tech. One of my favorite Peakon values is "Be you. Be more." I have always been encouraged to be myself, chart my own growth plan, and work toward it. This blend of opportunities for progress and sustainable healthy work-life balance makes Peakon truly a great place to work.
